Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located. See the locations here. [Please note that we are currently unable to host new staff in a number of NRO's at this present time, due to various restrictions. We are unable to support hosting in Africa, Colombia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, US, UK, MED, and MENA in addition to some other NRO locations. Greenpeace International is looking for a committed and organised Campaign Operations Manager to support the effective delivery of our ambitious Global Programme. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management skills, a collaborative mindset, and experience working across borders in an international environment.

This role will support the GPI Programme Department system pillars in all operational processes, track and monitor projects and budgets, so that GPI and National & Regional Offices can access up-to-date and accurate information on the delivery of the Global Programme. The role will also ensure clear internal communication, maintain internal networks, and implement administrative, financial, and logistical aspects to enable smooth day-to-day operations of relevant campaigns and projects.

In this role you will:

  • Advise and support NRO programme teams through the Global Projects pathway to facilitate the integration of projects in the Global Programme portfolio.

  • Ensure project documents are accessible, allowing stakeholders to access up-to-date information about project planning and delivery.

  • Contribute to integrated planning of the Global Programme through proactive calendaring and scheduling of campaign outputs overseen by their systems pillar.

  • Manage and monitor budgets for GPI enabling funds allocated to relevant projects, including accurate forecasting.

  • Liaise with Project Leaders and the GPI Programme Department Resource Strategist to ensure resource allocation is coordinated and accountability requirements are met.

  • Organise skillshares and training opportunities in collaboration with National & Regional Offices and GPI Programme colleagues.

  • Support smooth coordination between team members and other GPI functions as per instructions from the Co-Heads of system pillars.

  • Support the design and execution of programme-related projects, monitor progress, and ensure milestones are met.

  • Provide project management guidance to project teams, particularly regarding system pillar work, including tool use and reporting mechanisms.

  • Facilitate the creation of tools, documents, and materials to support project delivery and collaboration across the Greenpeace network.

  • Act as the primary contact for GPI P&C and Finance, ensuring HR and budgetary matters are addressed on time.

  • Maintain relationships with GPI functions such as Development, Legal, and Operations, ensuring coordination across teams.

  • Coordinate with NROs and GPI colleagues to compile campaign-wide inputs for organizational planning and reporting requirements.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for:

Remember no one has every skill or experience needed for this role and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot from the team. We believe someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role:

  • More than 4 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 1 year in an international organisation.

  • Experience working across borders with multicultural teams.

  • Proven budget management and project management skills.

  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively.

  • Fluent written and spoken English, with proficiency in another language as a plus.

  • Demonstrable support for and belief in the Greenpeace network core aims and values.

  • Digital literacy skills; the ability to learn and utilise our digital platforms to successfully perform the role function (familiarity with G-Suite, Slack and Zoom is an advantage)
