Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located (subject to agreement). See the locations here. Are you an expert in Web Analytics with a keen eye on technology strategy and working across cultures? Greenpeace International is looking for an Insights Manager who specializes in Web Analytics.
This is a specialist manager role, who will take responsibility for facilitating conversation and development of our web analytics strategy, architecture and standards in collaboration with our regional offices across 55 countries. Primarily a strategist and advisor, who needs to build strong relationships with digital leads in each country, The Insights Manager of Web Analytics is also responsible for the technical execution of our strategy, from technology strategy, design and overseeing implementation.
This role primarily supervises freelancers, contractors and vendors, but we have a long term strategy which may introduce opportunities for line management as you grow into the position.
Web Analytics is a priority analytics domain for Greenpeace, beyond the typical fundraising and marketing functions it supports, web analytics is at the forefront in our supporter engagement, recruitment, and global advocacy campaigns.
Each year over 100 million people engage with Greenpeace as a part of our global campaign work, much of this is through our websites and other online channels.
As part of the larger Data, Insights and Engineering teams at Greenpeace International you’ll help modernize and revolutionize how data is used to create meaningful change in the world.

Insights Manager - Web Analytics, is the top web analytics role in Greenpeace, an important leadership position responsible for the strategy and execution of our global web analytics work. We’re looking for someone who can lead our organization in understanding how to approach web analytics to deliver for our work, but also while improving our organizational posture for supporter privacy and legal compliance through changing regulation.
Remember no one has every skill or experience needed for this role and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot from the team. We believe someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role:
Expert level knowledge in an area of web analytics, or online marketing
Experience working on a campaign, data or digital team in an advocacy or campaigning organization (3 years+)
Significant experience with web analytics tooling, including Google Analytics Suite (tag manager, google optimize etc)
Experience with web analytics technology and architecture at scale (we have over 200 websites at any given time)
Interest and understanding of the changing landscape in Web Analytics. Particularly focused on supporter privacy, 1st party tracking solutions and available software solutions in the market
Intermediate experience in SQL or Big Query, in Google Cloud platform
Understanding of SEO and web traffic strategies
Effective communicator with ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment
Support for and belief in the core aims and values of Greenpeace.
