P&C Specialist (Employee Experience)

11-12 month fixed term contract (until end of February 2027) / full time *This position is offered on a temporary contract basis as a cover role.

Location: The successful candidate may be based in the Netherlands preferably.

We offer competitive NGO level salary and benefits, the specifics of which depend on location where the successful candidates will be based. We aim to share this information with candidates before reaching the offer stage.

Greenpeace International (GPI) is seeking a P&C Specialist with a focus on Employee Experience to join our International People and Culture Department. In this role, you will act as a first line of support to GPI employees , focusing on the end-to-end employee journey of our people to ensure a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment where everyone can thrive.

In this role you will:

As a Specialist within the Employee Experience Team, you will be responsible for executing all employee processes and systems for GPI staff. You will work closely with staff, hiring managers, and line managers across the entire employee lifecycle. A key part of this role involves collaborating with National/Regional Offices (NROs) and aligning with best practices for staff engagement.

Your focus will span the full employee lifecycle, including:

  • Recruitment & Contracting: Managing recruitment processes, contracting, and salary negotiations.

  • Onboarding & Integration: Ensuring a seamless entry and positive experience for new joiners, smooth induction process and access to various well-being initiatives

  • Performance & Mobility: Overseeing progression, performance management, internal mobility, and offboarding.

Additional detailed focus areas include:

  • Managing HR administration, Compensation & benefits. Focus on Netherlands payroll maybe expected

  • Closely liaising with NROs or other third parties regarding the staff they host for GPI.

  • Keeping abreast of local policies, compensation and benefits, and legislation across the various locations where GPI staff are based.

  • Supporting the career development of GPI staff in collaboration with HR partners and managers.

  • Contributing to various process efficiency, process automation and HR systems review projects - we are seeking to modernise and improve our HR practices and ensure smoother Employee experience across the board, so this role will play a pivotal role in modernising and improving our systems and processes.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for:

Remember no one has every skill or experience needed for this role and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot from the team. We believe someone who has a few of these is well suited to excel in this role:

  • Experience in a generalist P&C or HR role with a focus on  full employee lifecycle management

  • Experience in or knowledge of compensation, benefits, and local labour legislation in the Netherlands is strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience in HR systems implementation, revamp and improvement initiatives strongly preferred

  • Some prior recruitment & talent sourcing expertise is preferred

  • Experience in an international organisation, with a solid understanding of managing dispersed staff or hosted employment models.

  • Proven project management skills with a focus on delivering people-centric solutions and efficient systems.

  • A reflective style and a learning-by-doing approach

  • Ability to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement in a collaborative way

  • Demonstrable commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and ability to collaborate with cross-cultural teams.

  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written and preferably one other language.

  • Digitally literate: able to work with digital tools and online systems; willing and able to learn new ones.

  • Flexible approach to working with colleagues across multiple time zones and open to international travel.

  • Support for and belief in the core aims and values of Greenpeace.
